WDBCO and OMJCFC will be represented at the COSI Big Science Festival in a big way this year for Ohio’s In-Demand Jobs Week. Staged out of the OMJCFC Jobs Mobile visitors will journey through a virtual reality work experience simulating the tools and tasks of a variety of in-demand jobs.
“This is our second year at the COSI Big Science Festival and also our Ohio In Demand Jobs Week featured event. We love the energy and the opportunity to connect with youth, and their parents!” says Andrew Campbell, Director of Communications at WDBCO. “The virtual reality experience offered by our partners Transfr VR (link) is a unique way to introduce youth to various in-demand, good-paying career opportunities.”
After visiting the Jobs Mobile, you can experience over 100 “other” exhibitor stations with hands-on science hosted by STEM professionals, researchers, and experts from Central Ohio and beyond. Interact with subject experts from many different STEM fields including automotive engineering, nature conservation, robotics, genetics, archeology, computer engineering, biology, pharmacology, geology, and even entomology (the study of bugs).
This free experience is happening rain or shine, from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., on the Scioto Peninsula surrounding COSI, 333 W. Broad St. Columbus, 43215, Saturday, May 6th.
